It’s the holidays! Time to hit the rink, make the holiday party rounds, or curl up next to the fireplace. You know what will make you feel extra warm and cozy? A nice winter buzz. ‘Tis the season to get hammered! Here are Grand Benders top 8 holiday drinks.

The Candy Cane

• 3/4 oz. of Vodka
• 3/4 oz. of Peppermint Schnapps
• 3/4 oz. White Crème de Cacao
• 1/4 oz. Grenadine
• Half and Half Milk
• Soda Water

Crush some candy canes for the rim and you’ve got a seasonal treat.


Pumpkin Pie

• 1/2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
• 1/2 oz. Cinnamon Schnapps
• 1/2 oz. Kahlua Coffee Liqueur

Top it the off with some whipped cream for that authentic Pumpkin Pie touch.


Maple Kiss

• 1/3 oz. Canadian Whisky
• 1/3 oz. Raspberry Schnapps
• 1/3 oz. Maple Syrup

Layer those one on top of the other and you’ve got sweet drink that screams Canadian winter.


Hot Toddy

• 1 oz. Brandy, Whiskey, or Rum
• 1 tbsp Honey
• 1/4 Lemon
• 1 cup Hot Water

This is a winter classic. It’s a mature drink that’s also great for colds. At least that can be your excuse.


Spiked Cider

• 1/2 oz. Spiced Rum
• 1/2 oz. Cinnamon Schnapps
• Hot Apple Cider
• 1 Cinnamon Stick


Cranberry Sauced

Okay, forget the fancy drinks. You want a drink to take to the holiday party. Well, nothing says Christmas like Jell-O shots!

• 2 Packages Cranberry Flavoured Gelatin
• 1 Bottle Cranberry Vodka
• 1 Lime

Just replace the cold water with cranberry vodka in the gelatin recipe and you have a seasonal spin on a party favourite.


Holiday Spice

If you want a pina colada but it seems weird when there’s barely any sun right, try this year-end take.

• 1 1/2 oz. Coconut Vodka
• 1/2 oz. Cream of Coconut Cream
• 1/4 oz. Pineapple Juice
• 1 oz. Whole Milk
• 1 Egg White
• 2 dashes Cinnamon
• 2 dashes Nutmeg
• Coconut shavings

Put the spices and coconut shavings on top to garnish and you’ll feel warm and fuzzy in no time.



• 1 1/4 oz. Milk
• 1 oz. Brandy
• 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
• 1 Egg Yolk

This is another classic that’s way more chalet than patio. Try replacing the brandy with bourbon, Irish whiskey or rum and sit back as the year’s stresses just fade away.
