Who’s Playing The 2014 BPM Festival
It’s holiday time for the Rapaport Family. Mick, Nancy, Justin and Princess Coco are headed to Playa del Carmen and the 2014 BPM Festival, one of the biggest EDM festivals in the world. The festival runs for 10 straight days beginning January 3rd with more than 300 players. Just take a look at this list of talent and tell us this isn’t where you want to be!
Adam is a Swedish techno producer and DJ. He is the founder of Drumcode Records, Truesoul Records, Code Red and Mad Eye Recordings.
Benoit & Sergio
The Berlin-based duo were this year’s iTunes Breakthrough Electronic Artists of the Year. With four hit single, they are hard at work in the studio on new material for their debut album, slated to be released next year.
Brodinski has been called “the most exciting DJ and producer to explode onto the scene in recent years”. His own productions and DJ sets encompass everything from noisy techno and bass heavy house to more melodic minimal.
Carl is a Detroit-based producer of techno music, and is considered to be one of the most important names in the second generation of Detroit techno producers and DJs. He has approached techno using inspiration from a wide range of musical genres, including jazz and soul.
Derrick is an American house producer and DJ from Chicago, Illinois. He is regarded as one of the best underground house key players currently active.
Fedde Le Grand
Fedde Le Grand is a Dutch house DJ and producer best known for his 2006 track “Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit”.
John Digweed is an English DJ, record producer and actor. He ranks #17 best DJ in the world in the Resident Advisor top 100 DJ charts.
Jesse Rose is a London house DJ/producer. As well as his own production slate, which includes the massive ‘A-sided’ on Dubsided, Jesse has remixed the likes of Riton, Radio Slave, Elite Force, Kosma & Trevor Loveys, Hot Chip and Hard Drive to name a few.
From the early success of his remix of ‘Perc – Work Softer’, Gavin Lynch (aka Matador) has gone on to a string of releases and remixes on some high end prints including: Trapez, Cocoon, 1605, Rekluse, Harthouse and many more.
Maxxi Soundsystem is a DJ/Producer/Promoter from Brighton, UK. He is Resident DJ at Audio Brighton.
PillowTalk is Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Michael Tello. Based out of the famous Lower Haight District in San Francisco, PillowTalk’s music fuses classic R&B, boogie and disco with underground house and techno with an original feel.
Pete Tong is an English DJ and the host of ‘Essential Mix’ and ‘Essential Selection’ on BBC Radio 1. Tong has also worked as a record producer, and is regarded as the “global ambassador for electronic music”.
Richard “Richie” Hawtin is a Canadian electronic musician and DJ who was an influential part of Detroit techno’s second wave of artists in the early 1990s and a leading exponent of minimal techno. He is best known for his abstract, minimal works under the alias Plastikman.
Sasha is a Welsh DJ and record producer. Sasha began his career playing acid house dance music in the late 1980s and laterpartnered with fellow DJ John Digweed. Sasha has remixed tracks for artists such as Madonna, The Chemical Brothers and Hot Chip.
Seth is an American DJ and producer from Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is known for a string of critically acclaimed releases on Wolf + Lamb, Crosstown Rebels and Circus Company and collaborations with artists such as Art Department, Deetron, Tiefschwarz, Matthew Dear and Subb-an.
Skream is a British electronic record producer. One of dubstep’s first and most prominent producers, he has played an important role in the genre’s development. Skream is also a member of the Dubstep supergroup Magnetic Man, along with fellow producers Benga and Artwork.
Victor Calderone is a house music producer, DJ and remixer. His credits as a remixer include work for such artists as Madonna, Sting, Beyoncé Knowles, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Sarah Brightman amongst others.
Xo Chic is one-half of the duo Dollz At Play.
